Digital transformation was in the future plans for the Illinois State Police (ISP), but it was soon realized that to achieve the goals of their agency, transformation would need to be completed sooner and at an accelerated pace. DoIT helped to make that possible by working with ISP to understand their business objectives and current environment to begin transformation.
In a recent interview, ISP Director Leo Schmitz discussed his agency's technology direction and the importance of modernization to allow for systems that can better protect our state, such as predictive policing. Director Schmitz stated, "DoIT saw that we could use a push and some help right now to get us where we need to be…to meet the goals we want to meet sooner."
