One of the key strategies of the new Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT) is to provide mobile enabled tools to our field workforce and give Illinoisans the ability to interact with state government through their mobile devices (phones, tablets, watches, wearables etc.). Our goal is to web enable 80 % of citizen interactions over the next 18 months. We are well on our way to achieving this goal, with our mobile responsive web platform, early successes on mobile based licensing and permitting, and our efforts to launch a "mobile APP a month..." via our Illinois "FIRST" mobile applications platform.
DoIT's Mobile FIRST initiative is a central component of our overall Illinois FIRST strategy to deliver best in class innovations and technologies that enable and empower citizens and business collaboration across the state.
