The disparate IT environment consisted of hundreds of solutions that created duplicative processes, hindering the efficiency of the state. Application rationalization is a necessary element in the process of establishing an enterprise organization.
CMS Director Mike Hoffman recently discussed the value of application rationalization at his agency by stating, "DoIT is really helping us to rationalize (those) applications and ensure that the systems can talk to each other and we’re better able to serve our customers."
